On Friday, December 12th , the members of the OSAF Board convened for their final meeting of 2025. Chaired by Mr. Raúl Lima Neto (Jockey Club Brasileiro), the meeting was attended by representatives from the Argentine Jockey Club, Palermo Racecourse, Jockey Club de São Paulo, Club Hípico de Santiago, Hipódromo Chile, Valparaíso Sporting Club, Jockey Club del Peru, and HRU S.A., as well as the General Manager and Executive Secretary of the institution. MR HORACIO ESPÓSITO PRESENT AT THE JAPAN CUP 2025
On Sunday, November 30th, the Japan Cup (G1) was run at the Tokyo Racecourse, where the Irish horse CALANDAGAN (IRE) won in a record time of 2:20.3, defeating the local MASQUERADE BALL (JPN) by a head, and also becoming the first foreign horse to win the Japan Cup in 20 years. Descargar PDF

Following the running of Gran Premio Latinoamericano in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday, October 18th, Mr. Masayuki Goto (IFHA Vice Chairman, Executive Advisor of the JRA, and Vice President of the Asian Racing Federation) and his wife, Mrs. Yumisa Goto, Mr. Tomoaki Hashimoto (General Manager of the JRA offices in New York), and Mr. Henri Pouret (IFHA Vice Chairman and COO of France Galop) traveled to Buenos Aires to continue their visit to the major racetracks and stud farms in our region. OSAF is proud to announce that, through the collaboration between the Japan Racing Association (JRA) and Mr. Horacio Espósito (Vice Chairman of IFHA and OSAF's Advisor in International Affairs), an initiative has emerged, to invite 2 South American horses to compete in one of the JRA's Group 1 races, the 26th edition of the Champions Cup, which will take place at Chukyo Racecourse in Toyoake, Japan, on Sunday, December 7th, 2025. RESULTS GRAN PREMIO LATINOAMERICANO 2025
On Saturday, October 18th at 8 pm, on the turf track of Gavea Racecourse, the 41st edition of the emblematic race that brings together the best South American Thoroughbreds took place, with OBATAYE (BRZ) emerging as the winner. The Brazillian-bred 5-year-old which had been nominated by Jockey Club de Sao Paulo, is owned by Haras Rio Iguassu. Bred by Haras Palmerini, the son of COURTIER and SURFI'N USA (CRIMSON TIDE) is trained by Antonio Marcos Oldoni and was ridden to victory by jockey João Moreira, winning for 1.5 lengths in a time of 1m 58s 59c over the distance of 2000 meters.
