On Saturday, October 18th at 8 pm, on the turf track of Gavea Racecourse, the 41st edition of the emblematic race that brings together the best South American Thoroughbreds took place, with OBATAYE (BRZ) emerging as the winner.
The Brazillian-bred 5-year-old which had been nominated by Jockey Club de Sao Paulo, is owned by Haras Rio Iguassu. Bred by Haras Palmerini, the son of COURTIER and SURFI’N USA (CRIMSON TIDE) is trained by Antonio Marcos Oldoni and was ridden to victory by jockey João Moreira, winning for 1.5 lengths in a time of 1m 58s 59c over the distance of 2000 meters.
